The International Monetary Fund’s Executive Board has approved a new 38‑month financing arrangement for the Democratic Republic of the Congo, combining an Extended Credit Facility and a Resilience and Sustainability Facility. The package, totaling several billion dollars, is designed to help the DRC maintain robust growth while reducing inflation and fiscal deficits. Funds will support structural reforms in tax administration, public‑finance management, and social spending, with emphasis on reconstruction in conflict‑affected eastern regions.
