Dubai has inaugurated a new coastal mangrove restoration project along its northern shoreline, marking one of the latest large‑scale environmental events in the UAE. The initiative aims to plant tens of thousands of native mangrove saplings across several hectares of degraded coastal land, restoring critical habitat for fish, birds, and marine species. The project is part of the UAE’s broader strategy to increase mangrove cover to 100 million trees by 2030, bolstering coastal protection, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity.
