Volunteer Beach Cleanup Campaign in Chloraka, Cyprus

Hundreds of volunteers participate in an organized beach cleanup at Kotsias sandy beach in Chloraka, removing plastic waste and debris to restore coastal ecosystems.

On March 22, 2026, the Kotsias coastal area in Chloraka–Lempa hosted a major community beach cleanup led by the Chloraka Cultural and Environmental Club, the NE.OI. Youth Movement, and ESTEE Evening School from Paphos. Local and international volunteers gathered to collect plastic waste, cigarette butts, and other marine debris from the shoreline and dunes. The initiative aims to raise awareness about marine pollution, protect sea turtles and nesting habitats, and promote sustainable tourism practices in one of Cyprus’s key coastal tourism zones.
