Pakistan Opened Indus AI Week With Landmark AI Summit

Pakistan launched Indus AI Week 2026 with the Indus AI Summit at Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad, marking a major step in national AI strategy.

Pakistan formally opened its national artificial intelligence agenda with the Indus AI Summit 2026, held on February 9 at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad. The summit marked the beginning of Indus AI Week (9–15 February 2026), a national initiative to advance AI adoption. Organized by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, the event was attended by the Prime Minister of Pakistan as Chief Guest and the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication. More than 1,000 participants, including around 150 international delegates, discussed sovereign compute, ethical AI, digital sovereignty, and partnerships to strengthen Pakistan’s digital ecosystem. The summit also anchored broader Indus AI Week activities across universities and institutions nationwide.
