45 organized crime groups uncovered in Uzbekistan in two months
Forty‑five organized criminal groups were uncovered in Uzbekistan during large‑scale law‑enforcement operations in January–February 2026.
Law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan, including the Interior Ministry, State Security Service, and Prosecutor General’s Office, conducted 6,025 special operations during January–February 2026, including night raids and searches. These operations led to the uncovering of 45 organized criminal groups operating across the country. In total, authorities registered 116 cases of fraud, 315 cases involving illegal weapons possession, 86 cases related to illegal gambling operations, 40 cases of human trafficking, and 790 cases tied to the operation of brothels and the spread of HIV. Additionally, 533 individuals who were on the wanted list were detained as part of these anti‑crime measures.
