Airstrike hits health center in southern Lebanon

An Israeli airstrike on a primary health center in southern Lebanon killed more than a dozen medical workers and injured others, severely impacting local emergency care.

An Israeli airstrike targeted a primary health center in Bourj Kawa, southern Lebanon, killing at least 12 medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, and injuring at least one other worker. The facility was part of the national primary healthcare network and was operating amid ongoing hostilities when the attack occurred. Rescue crews continued searching for possible additional casualties as the Lebanese Health Ministry condemned the strike as a violation of international law and highlighted the vulnerability of health workers and facilities in conflict zones. The incident further strains Lebanon’s already fragile healthcare system, which has seen repeated attacks on medical infrastructure and personnel in recent weeks.
