Lebanese officials, including the Ministries of Agriculture and Environment, are monitoring soil, water, and farmland in southern Lebanon to evaluate the cumulative impact of recent environmental harms. Damage stems from repeated spraying of high‑concentration herbicides near the Blue Line, as well as fires and bombardments that have degraded olive groves, orchards, and croplands relied on by local communities. Authorities work with UNIFIL to support affected farmers and displaced families, while residents are urged to follow official safety guidance. Environmental teams are also checking groundwater and marine ecosystems along the coastal strip.
