Colombian authorities announced the arrest of 121 individuals accused of involvement in extortion and kidnappings in a large‑scale operation targeting criminal groups. The operation, referred to as "Operation Jade", focused on members of several illegal organizations including the Gulf Clan, the National Liberation Army (ELN), and the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Arrests were carried out in major cities including Bogotá, Medellín, and Cartagena, as well as in smaller municipalities in the departments of Chocó, Huila, and Cesar. The National Police director stated that the arrests were intended to disrupt the finances of criminal organizations and restore security to affected communities.
