Colombian police captured 121 people charged with kidnapping and extortion in a large-scale anti‑crime operation.
Colombian police announced the capture of 121 individuals linked to criminal groups and charged with kidnapping and extortion in a nationwide operation known as “Operation Jade.” Those detained are allegedly connected to several illegal organizations including the Gulf Clan, the National Liberation Army and the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The operation targeted cities such as Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena, as well as municipalities in the departments of Chocó, Huila and Cesar, with authorities stating the arrests aim to weaken criminal finances and restore community security.
