Aqaba Authority Launches 'Leave It Clean 2026' Litter Campaign

Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority ramps up beach and desert cleanup efforts during Eid al-Fitr to promote environmental preservation and reduce littering in Jordan.

The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) has launched the 'Leave It Clean 2026' campaign in Aqaba and the Wadi Rum area, distributing reusable cloth bags to visitors and encouraging proper waste disposal. The initiative reinforces the Royal directive that designates 2026 the 'Year of Cleanliness' and integrates with the Ministry of Environment's national plan to combat littering. Volunteers and staff are working at major beaches and tourist sites to collect trash, raise awareness, and promote sustainable tourism practices.
