From 23–27 March 2026, more than 50 officials from Bhutan’s health and disaster‑management sectors are gathering in Paro for a national training on Emergency Operations Center (EOC) management. This initiative, led by the World Health Organization in collaboration with Bhutan’s Ministry of Health and funded by the Pandemic Fund, aims to strengthen the country’s emergency coordination, early warning, and response systems. Participants include Chief Medical Officers, Public Health Officers, disaster‑management personnel, DeSuung volunteers, and Red Cross representatives, reflecting a whole‑of‑government and whole‑of‑society approach. The training builds multi‑sectoral capacity to detect, assess, and manage future public health emergencies, supporting the country’s commitment to resilient health security and rapid response.
