Suspected Terrorist Act at Police Station in Yerevan

Two men injured in grenade attack during failed attempt to storm Nor Nork police station in Yerevan, with a third suspect detained amid suspected terrorism case in Armenia.

On March 24, a failed armed attempt to storm the Nor Nork police precinct in Yerevan led to injuries and a terrorism‑related investigation. Two men, aged 52 and 56, were wounded by a grenade they detonated while trying to breach the station’s administrative building. A third armed man remained outside, threatening further explosions before being detained by a special forces unit. Armenian authorities described the incident as characteristic of a terrorist act under the country’s Criminal Code, though motives remain unclear. The Interior Ministry simultaneously reported prior detentions of 49 members of a fringe opposition group, Combat Brotherhood, for suspected weapons possession, which the group denied linking to the police station attack.
